{"id":148,"date":"2024-05-05T15:46:19","date_gmt":"2024-05-05T15:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zalvis.com\/docs\/?p=148"},"modified":"2024-05-05T15:46:19","modified_gmt":"2024-05-05T15:46:19","slug":"registering-private-nameservers-with-godaddy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/zalvis.com\/docs\/registering-private-nameservers-with-godaddy.html","title":{"rendered":"Registering Private Nameservers with GoDaddy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If your domain is registered at Godaddy and you want to use private nameservers (ns1.yourdomain.com, ns2.yourdomain.com, ect) you have to register them before they can be set on any of your domains.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t register them first, Godaddy will give you an error when you try to assign them to any domain.<\/p>\n<p>Once your private nameservers and IPs are assigned by Host4Geeks, you must then register both the names, and their IPs at Godaddy.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to the Go Daddy Account Login Page.<\/li>\n<li>Log in using your account username (which may be the same as your customer number) and password.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Once logged in follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to Domains &gt;&gt; My Domains<\/li>\n<li>Click on your domain you\u2019d like to register nameservers for.<\/li>\n<li>Click on (add) under \u2018Host Summary\u2019 on the bottom left.<\/li>\n<li>For \u201cHost Name:\u201d you\u2019ll input \u201cns1\u201d (no quotes) in the box.<\/li>\n<li>For \u201cHost IP 1:\u201d you\u2019ll input your primary nameserver IP address<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cOk\u201d \u2013 Your first nameserver has been created.<\/li>\n<li>Click on (add) under \u2018Host Summary\u2019 on the bottom left again.<\/li>\n<li>For \u201cHost Name:\u201d you\u2019ll input \u201cns2\u201d (no quotes) in the box.<\/li>\n<li>For \u201cHost IP 2: you\u2019ll enter the same IP as your primary address, except one number higher.(For Example: You received the ip: 208.85.241.34 when signing up, this would be your primary IP for ns1.
